Competitions

We run a series of Summer and Winter Postal Leagues and several shoulder to shoulder competitions each year, run to ISSF rules, as follows:

Annual Open Scottish 10m Air Pistol Championships

Held in March or April each year, this is a nominated shoot, consisting of two days of events culminating in the finals to be the Open Scottish 10m Air Pistol Champion for the year.

Other Competitions at this event are outlined below.  Entries are in classes, X, A, B, C and D, giving all levels of shooter a fair chance of winning an award.  There are over 80 awards presented each year at the Scottish Championships.

The Open Scottish 10m Air Pistol Championship consists of Mens, Ladies, Disabled, Junior men and Junior ladies.

The Red competition is 60 shots for all competitors, in classes X, A, B, C and D.

The Blue competition is also 60 shots for all competitors and in classes as above.

The Aggregate competition is the scores of the Red and Blue competitions combined.

There are also competitions in Standard Air, Sport Air and Falling Plate (turning target), Club Pairs and Veterans.

There are also awards (free entry) for the top scoring Scottish Resident, Scottish ex-pat, Home Countries Team of three and Scotland v Norway.

If this is too many shoots to complete, the championship can be shot concurrently with the red competition.

This is a great weekend with usually over 60 competitors from Scotland, Wales, England, NI, Ireland and Norway.

This competition is usually held in June at Denwood in Aberdeen and in conjunction with a training workshop run by one of our or a guest coach.
